Beauty Hacks
Cleansing is one of those steps where I prefer simple products that do exactly what I need. I don’t want ten different bottles around the sink, especially when two well-chosen formulas can cover makeup removal and everyday cleansing.
These are the two I’ve been reaching for depending on how much cleansing my skin needs.

My First Step for Makeup
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 is the product I reach for when I want to remove makeup before properly washing my face. I like how straightforward micellar water makes this first step: I can soak a cotton pad, gently wipe over the skin and concentrate a little more around areas where makeup tends to linger. This version is marked for sensitive skin, which is one of the reasons I prefer using it when I want something uncomplicated. For me, its biggest advantage is convenience. It doesn’t turn makeup removal into a long routine, and I especially appreciate it on evenings when I just want to get everything off quickly. I normally think of it as the beginning of my cleanse rather than the entire routine, particularly when I’ve worn a fuller face of makeup.

When I Want a Proper Wash
CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is what I prefer when I want to follow with a rinse-off cleanser and leave my skin feeling fresh without that overly stripped sensation. The formula is designed for normal to very dry skin, and the bottle also highlights ceramides, hyaluronic acid and squalane. What I like most is the combination of an oil-style cleanser with a formula that still rinses away like a traditional wash. It feels like a comfortable middle ground when I want effective cleansing but don’t enjoy formulas that leave my face feeling tight afterwards. I also find the pump bottle practical because it keeps the whole step quick and easy, especially when my hands are already wet.

I don’t really see these two cleansers as competitors because they serve different purposes in my routine. The micellar water is my easy makeup-removal step, while the foaming oil cleanser is what I use when I want that final fresh, rinsed-clean feeling. Together, they make cleansing feel simple without turning it into an unnecessarily complicated part of my skincare routine.
