I’ve become much more selective with powder because I don’t like taking all the life out of my base. Instead of setting everything, I usually concentrate on the centre of my face and anywhere makeup tends to shift.
These three work for me in slightly different ways, which is exactly why I don’t see them as duplicates.

For a Clean Matte Finish
Catrice Soft Blur Matte Setting Powder in 001 Translucent is the one I reach for when I want to reduce shine without making my complexion look heavy. I prefer using a small amount around the nose, forehead, and chin, where I want the finish to look neater but still natural. The translucent shade keeps things simple, especially when I don’t want to disturb the colour of my foundation. For me, it works best as a light finishing step rather than something I pile on.

For a More Finished Look
Fenty Beauty Set It Down Setting Powder feels better suited to days when I want my makeup to look more polished and intentionally set. I like applying it with a small brush or puff, especially through the centre of the face and under the eyes. It gives me that slightly more refined finish I tend to want with fuller makeup, without turning the whole base completely flat.

For a Softer Blur
Influence Beauty Hydrogenesis Hydro-To-Touch Setting Powder is the one I choose when I want less of a traditional matte effect. I like it most for softening the appearance of texture and making the base look more even rather than simply removing shine. It feels especially useful on lighter makeup days, when I still want the skin to keep some dimension.

What I like most is that each powder has a clear role in my routine: one controls shine, one gives a more polished finish, and one creates a softer, more blurred look.
