I have always felt that mascara can completely change a makeup look. Even when I keep the rest of my routine simple, a good mascara helps my eyes look more awake and adds that final touch.
I usually prefer formulas that give my lashes definition while still feeling comfortable, so I wanted to compare a few different options and see which ones I would naturally reach for.

1. Lash Paradise Mascara
Lash Paradise is one of those mascaras I have seen many times before, so I was curious to finally try it myself. I usually associate this type of packaging with a more classic, dramatic lash look, especially on days when I want my eyes to stand out a little more.
What I noticed first was the fuller effect it creates. The formula feels like it is made for building up the lashes rather than keeping them completely natural. For me, it works better when I take a little extra time to separate the lashes and avoid applying too many layers at once. I like that it gives a more noticeable finish, although I would probably choose it for evenings or makeup looks where I want my lashes to have more presence.

2. ILIA Mascara
ILIA immediately caught my attention because of its minimal, elegant packaging. I often find myself reaching for products that look simple and effortless, and this mascara gives me that same feeling. I imagined using it on days when I want my makeup to look fresh rather than heavily done.
I like the softer approach of this formula. It feels like the kind of mascara that fits naturally into an everyday routine, especially when I am going for a clean makeup look. The lashes appear more defined without feeling overly dramatic, which is usually what I look for when I want my makeup to feel easy and comfortable.

3. L’Oréal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara
L’Oréal Telescopic is a classic that I was interested in testing because I usually enjoy mascaras with thinner brushes. They often feel easier to control, especially when I want to reach smaller lashes in the corners of my eyes.
What I appreciate about this type of brush is the precision. It gives me more control during application, and I like being able to build the look slowly instead of getting too much product at once. A waterproof formula can also feel useful for busy days, although I always remember that removal is an important part of the routine too.

After trying these mascaras, I realised that I do not always look for the biggest volume or the most dramatic effect. My favourite mascara is usually the one that matches my mood and the rest of my makeup. Some days I want soft and natural lashes, while other days I enjoy a more defined look — and that is what makes experimenting with different formulas so fun.
