I tend to choose lip products according to mood rather than trying to stick to one signature shade. Some days I want something easy and glossy that takes almost no effort, while on others I prefer a deeper matte colour that makes the whole look feel more intentional.
These three ended up being surprisingly different from one another, which is exactly why I enjoyed testing them side by side.
1. Insight Gloss Up Vinyl
The Insight Gloss Up Vinyl in Barely There is the one I reach for when I want my lips to look polished without feeling overly done. The swatch has a warm rosy-brown tone with a noticeably glossy finish, and I like how relaxed it feels compared with a traditional matte lip. I usually keep the rest of my makeup fairly simple when I wear it because the shine already gives the look enough interest. What surprised me was how wearable the colour felt even though it looks deeper in the tube. For me, this is the easiest of the three to throw on without overthinking.
2. Mamaearth Moisture Matte
Mamaearth Moisture Matte Longstay Lipstick feels much more muted and softly defined. The shade sits somewhere between rosy and berry on my skin, and I like it most on days when I want colour without a very glossy finish. I found the crayon format convenient because it gives me more control around the lip line, especially when I do not want to use a separate pencil. The finish looks smoother and more understated than the Insight gloss, so I tend to choose this one for daytime makeup or when I want my lips to look neat but not overly noticeable.
3. Praush Matte Lipstick
Praush Long Lasting Matte Lipstick in Bubble Tea is the deepest and most dramatic option here. On my hand, the swatch looks like a rich berry-plum shade with a matte finish, and it immediately makes the whole makeup look feel more structured. I like applying a smaller amount first and building it gradually because the colour has quite a lot of visual impact. This is the one I would reach for when I want the lips to become the main focus rather than just another part of the makeup.
After trying all three, I realised how much finish changes the personality of a lip colour. The glossy Insight feels effortless, Mamaearth feels softer and more everyday, while Praush gives me that deeper, more deliberate lip look when I want something stronger.
