The Lip Products I Ranked

I have become much more selective with lip products because I want something that looks polished without turning application into a ten-minute project. I usually prefer shades that work with everyday makeup and formulas I can refresh without checking a mirror constantly.

Testing these liners and glosses side by side made the differences much clearer than I expected, especially when it came to texture and how naturally they fitted into my routine.

1. Lip Liners

My first place went to the Kylie Cosmetics lip liner in the centre. It felt like the easiest one to work with when I wanted a defined lip that still looked soft rather than sharply outlined. I liked how naturally the colour worked with the rest of my makeup, and I found myself reaching for it most often. Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat came second. I really enjoyed the creamy feel and the amount of control it gave me around the lip line. It was especially useful when I wanted to slightly reshape the edges without the result looking obvious. The black-packaged liner on the right came third. I still liked using it, but compared with the other two, it required a little more attention for the finish I wanted. My ranking here mostly came down to ease: the Kylie liner simply felt the most effortless.

2. Lip Glosses

For gloss, Kylie Cosmetics Supple Kiss Lip Glaze took first place surprisingly quickly. I loved the smooth, glossy finish and how comfortable it felt when I wore it for a simple everyday look. It gave my lips enough shine to make the rest of my makeup look more finished without feeling overly dramatic. Maybelline Lifter Gloss came second for me. I have always liked a gloss that can be applied quickly, and this one was easy to keep in my bag and use without much thought. The Charlotte Tilbury gloss finished third. The packaging is beautiful and I liked the softer, polished effect, but I personally reached for the other two more often because they suited my everyday routine slightly better.

After comparing all six products, I realised that my favourites were the ones I could apply almost automatically. I still appreciate beautiful packaging and a sophisticated finish, but comfort, easy blending and low-effort application are what actually make me return to a lip product.
