Good Day Friedns! Affordable skincare can honestly be so confusing sometimes. One cleanser becomes everyone’s holy grail, while another gets completely dragged online even though some people secretly love it.

I’ve tried both the CeraVe and Neutrogena cleansers, and they honestly feel like they were made for completely different skin moods.

1. CeraVe Cleanser

Instead of that tight “my skin has been vacuum-sealed” feeling, the skin still feels comfortable and soft afterward. It cleans properly, but without making the face feel stripped or overly squeaky.

I especially like this during colder weather or whenever my skin barrier feels stressed because it keeps the skin balanced instead of overly dry. The texture also feels creamy and gentle, which makes the entire routine feel calmer. Honestly, this is one of the few cleansers where I can wash my face and not immediately panic-search for moisturizer two seconds later.

2. Neutrogena Acne Wash

Price: Around $8–$13 depending on size

This one definitely leans more toward that "super clean" feeling after rinsing. My skin feels fresher and more matte afterward, though slightly drier compared to CeraVe. Some people absolutely love that deep-clean sensation because it leaves skin feeling refreshed and less oily throughout the day. My brother and one of my friends swear by it — they feel like it helps keep breakouts under control better.

For me personally, though, it feels a little too drying if I use it too often. I can understand why oily skin types enjoy it, but my skin usually prefers something less intense long term.

Honestly… I’d pick CeraVe for my own skin without hesitation. It simply feels easier to live with every day. My skin stays clean but still comfortable, which matters more to me than that dramatic squeaky-clean feeling. But I also understand why Neutrogena works for some people, especially if they prefer stronger oil-control cleansers or have very oily skin.
