Acne Safe Cleansers!

If there’s one thing I stopped doing for my acne-prone skin, it’s using cleansers that make my face feel painfully tight after washing. I used to think that “squeaky clean” feeling meant the cleanser was working… meanwhile my skin barrier was literally crying.

Ever since switching to a gentler 2-step cleansing routine, my skin has looked so much calmer and less angry. These two cleansers are honestly my comfort products at this point.

1. Night Cleanse — The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser

I genuinely did not expect to love this cleanser as much as I do. The texture starts off like a cream, but once you rub it between your hands for a few seconds, it melts into this silky oil texture that removes makeup and sunscreen so easily. Then when you rinse it off, it turns milky and leaves the skin feeling soft instead of greasy. This cleanser makes taking makeup off feel so much less annoying at the end of the day. My skin always feels clean but still comfortable afterward, which is really important because harsh cleansers usually make my breakouts look even more irritated.

2. Morning Cleanse — Prequel Gleanser

This cleanser literally feels like skincare instead of just “face wash.” The texture is sooo cushiony and hydrating, and my skin never feels dry afterward. It’s one of those products that makes your skin feel fresh in the morning. The high glycerin content is honestly what makes this product stand out to me. My skin looks healthier and less dull whenever I use it consistently. Plus it’s fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, which my sensitive acne-prone skin appreciates so much. I also love how simple and fuss-free it is. No strong scent, no weird tight feeling, no irritation… just soft clean skin.

I’ve realized acne-prone skin doesn’t always need aggressive products. Sometimes keeping your routine gentle and hydrating actually helps way more than constantly trying to “dry out” breakouts. These two cleansers made my skin feel balanced again, and honestly, my face has been looking much happier ever since.
