A good setting powder can seriously make or break your makeup. Some powders blur everything beautifully, while others suddenly make your under eyes look dry, cakey, or way too bright in flash photos.
I’ve tested quite a few over time, and these three are the ones I keep reaching back to for different reasons. So here’s my honest little rating and review after using them myself.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Powder — 6/10
This powder actually works pretty well for keeping makeup in place, especially when I want my base to last longer throughout the day. It controls shine nicely and gives a matte finish without feeling too heavy. But personally, I noticed it can leave a slight white cast under the eyes, especially if I apply too much product or use it in brighter lighting. It’s not terrible, but definitely something I became more aware of when taking pictures. I think this one works better if applied lightly with a fluffy brush instead of baking too heavily.

Fenty Beauty Setting Powder — 9/10
This one instantly made my under eyes look smoother and softer the first time I tried it. The texture feels really fine, so it blends beautifully into the skin instead of sitting on top awkwardly. I also love the scent — it makes the whole makeup routine feel a bit more luxurious. What really stands out to me is how polished my makeup looks after using this powder. My under eyes stay smooth for hours without looking dry or cracked. It also gives that soft blurred effect that makes makeup look cleaner and more refined. Honestly, this is the powder I reach for when I want my makeup to look extra good in photos.

Wet n Wild Photofocus Powder — 7/10
For the price, this powder actually surprised me a lot. It smooths the under eyes nicely and helps makeup stay in place without making everything feel too heavy. The finish looks soft and clean, especially for everyday makeup. The only downside is that it can leave a noticeable white cast if too much product is applied. I learned pretty quickly that a small amount works much better with this one. Once I started using less powder, the finish looked way more natural and flattering.

Every setting powder gives a different kind of finish depending on your makeup style and skin type. Some are better for long wear, while others make your makeup look smoother and softer. Right now, Fenty Beauty is definitely my favorite out of the three — but I’m still curious to know which setting powder everyone else swears by.
