Fresh orange juice is one of the simplest and most refreshing fruit drinks we can prepare at home. Its bright color, natural citrus aroma, and balanced sweet–tangy taste make it a favorite choice for many families. Compared with packaged drinks, homemade orange juice tastes fresher and allows us to enjoy the real flavor of fruit without complicated processing.
Today we are going to make a simple fresh orange juice drink. This drink is smooth, slightly sweet, and lightly tangy. It takes only a few minutes to prepare and requires just a few ingredients. Even beginners can easily follow the steps. Let’s take a look at the ingredients and the detailed method.
What We Need
Before starting, we prepare all the ingredients and tools. Having everything ready makes the process much easier.
- 1 large navel orange (about 200–250 g)
- 80–120 ml warm water
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (about 5 ml)
- 1 teaspoon honey (about 5–8 g, optional)
Tools:
- 1 blender or food processor
- 1 peeler and cutting board.
- 1 cup or glass for serving
- 1 spoon for stirring
This amount makes about 200–250 ml of fresh orange juice, which is perfect for one glass.
Step 1: Wash and Prepare the Orange
1. First, we rinse the orange thoroughly under running water. Even though we will remove the peel, washing the fruit helps remove dust and keeps everything clean.
2. Next, place the orange on a cutting board. Gently peel off the skin and separate the orange into segments. If there are visible seeds, remove them.
3. Then cut the orange segments into small pieces about 2–3 cm wide. Smaller pieces help the blender work more smoothly and create a more even texture.

Step 2: Add Ingredients to the Blender
1. Now we place the chopped orange pieces into the blender.
2. After that, add 80–120 ml of warm water. The water helps the fruit blend more easily and makes the drink smoother. If we prefer a thicker juice, we can add less water. If we like a lighter texture, we can add a little more.
3. Close the blender lid securely before starting.
Step 3: Blend the Orange Mixture
1. Turn on the blender and blend the mixture for about 20–40 seconds.
2. If we enjoy a drink with small fruit bits, we can blend for about 20 seconds. If we prefer a smoother juice, we can blend closer to 40 seconds.
3. Once blended, the mixture should look bright, smooth, and fragrant.
Step 4: Add Lemon Juice and Honey
1. Pour the freshly blended orange juice into a glass.
2. Next, add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of fresh lemon juice. The lemon adds a light citrus note and balances the sweetness of the orange.
3. If we like a sweeter flavor, add 1 teaspoon of honey. Stir the drink gently with a spoon for about 10–15 seconds until everything mixes evenly.
4. If the orange is already naturally sweet, the honey can be skipped.
Step 5: Taste and Adjust
1. Before serving, we can take a small taste.
2. If the juice feels too strong, we can add 1–2 tablespoons of warm water and stir again. If we want more brightness in flavor, we can add a few extra drops of lemon juice.
3. Small adjustments help create the perfect balance for our taste.

Serving the Fresh Orange Juice
Now the drink is ready! The juice should have a beautiful orange color and a fresh citrus aroma.
For the best flavor, it is recommended to drink the juice immediately after preparation. Fresh juice keeps its bright taste and natural fragrance when served right away.
