Cleanser Obsession!

Some days, my skin feels oily before lunchtime, and little breakouts seem to appear out of nowhere. That’s when I start paying more attention to the cleanser I use, rather than adding another treatment to every step.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser and CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser both target acne-prone skin, but I’d choose between them based on how my skin feels and what my routine already includes.

1. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne-Prone Skin
A gel cleanser is appealing when my face feels greasy, especially around my forehead and nose. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser is an acne-focused option formulated with salicylic acid, an ingredient that helps exfoliate inside pores and can improve the appearance of clogged pores and blemishes. I’d use it according to the label directions and pay attention to how my skin feels afterward.

2. CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser
CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser is another option I’d consider when breakouts and clogged pores are part of my skincare concerns. It contains salicylic acid, while the CeraVe approach also emphasizes ingredients such as ceramides to help support the skin barrier. I’d use it on days when I want targeted cleansing without turning my routine into a long list of treatments. Still, it’s worth remembering that two salicylic-acid cleansers serve similar purposes.

Both cleansers make sense for acne-prone skin, but I’d start with just one. La Roche-Posay appeals to me for a straightforward medicated gel cleanse, while CeraVe stands out for combining acne care with a barrier-conscious approach.
My decision would come down to how well the formula suits my skin and whether I can use it consistently without irritation. Clearer-looking skin takes patience, and a gentle, balanced routine is a better starting point than over-cleansing.
