Not every widely loved beauty product becomes a personal favourite. Sometimes the formula works exactly as intended, yet the texture, finish or overall experience leaves just enough room for hesitation.

These three makeup staples all land at a solid 7/10, though for completely different reasons.

Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Concealer

Rating: 7/10

Price: around €30–33

Coverage is easily this concealer’s strongest point. The creamy, highly pigmented formula handles dark circles, redness and uneven-looking areas with relatively little product, while the luminous-matte finish keeps the complexion from looking completely flat.

The compromise is that fuller coverage can settle into fine lines if too much is applied, especially under the eyes. Thin layers, careful blending and minimal powder usually give the smoothest result.

KIKO Milano 3D Hydra Lipgloss

Rating: 7/10

Price: around €14–17

This gloss delivers noticeable shine, a comfortable feel and a smoother, more dimensional look to the lips. The texture is polished enough for everyday wear without feeling unnecessarily heavy.

It works nicely on its own or over a lip liner, but the overall effect is more reliable than unforgettable. A good everyday gloss, just not necessarily the kind of product everyone will rush to repurchase.

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Hydrating Face Primer

Rating: 7/10

Price: around €45

The famously tacky texture has a clear purpose. This hydrating gel primer creates a grippy base that helps makeup stay in place and can be especially useful when longevity matters more than a silky finish.

That same grip may also be its biggest drawback. The skin remains noticeably sticky before foundation goes on, so anyone who dislikes tacky textures may find it less enjoyable. Letting it sit briefly before applying makeup helps the formula perform more smoothly.

All three products do their main jobs well, but none is completely without compromise. They are a good reminder that performance is only part of the story — texture, finish and how a product actually feels in your routine matter just as much.
