Hey Lykkers! Some dry shampoos make my hair feel fresh and fluffy, while others leave me wondering why I even bothered using them. I’ve tested a few different formulas, and three have really stood out to me for completely different reasons.
So, let’s rank them from the one I reach for most to the one I probably won’t repurchase.

1. Dae Fairy Duster Dry Shampoo — My Clear Winner
This one easily takes first place for me. Dae Fairy Duster instantly makes my hair feel cleaner, lighter, and more refreshed without giving me that heavy, powdery feeling. What really sold me was the lightweight, invisible finish. I have dark hair, so white residue is one of the first things I notice with dry shampoo, but this one doesn’t leave an obvious white cast. A little blending with my fingers or a clean makeup brush is usually all it takes.

2. Living Proof Dry Shampoo — Still a Favorite
Living Proof was actually my number-one pick before Dae came along. It does a great job absorbing oil and sweat while making my hair feel fresh, soft, and bouncy. For anyone who prefers a classic aerosol formula, this is a really solid option. It gives my hair that freshly refreshed feeling and leaves behind a lovely scent. The only reason it lands in second place is that Dae keeps my hair looking and feeling non-oily slightly longer. Still, I can comfortably go three to four days between washes when using Living Proof.

3. Pacifica Best Day Ever Dry Shampoo — Just Okay
I wanted to love this one, especially since I’m always curious about more affordable options. Unfortunately, it didn’t impress me nearly as much as the other two. It’s another non-aerosol formula, but I didn’t feel like it absorbed enough oil from my hair. The refreshing effect was also pretty subtle, and the scent didn’t stand out to me. Maybe it could work better for someone with lighter oiliness, but personally, I wouldn’t pick it over my top two.

For me, it’s Dae first, Living Proof second, and Pacifica third. Dae has completely earned its spot as my current favorite because of the finish, scent, volume, and how long my hair stays fresh. Finding a dry shampoo that actually works with dark hair feels like a small beauty win, so I’m sticking with my number-one pick for now. Still searching for a great drugstore option, though, so recommendations are very welcome.
