When I think about makeup that can quietly change the whole mood of a look, liquid highlighter is usually the first thing that comes to mind.

It’s one of those products that doesn’t try too hard, but somehow manages to catch light in just the right places and make the skin look more alive.

Lately, I’ve been exploring a few options that each bring their own character to the table, and it’s interesting how different the results can feel even though the category is the same.

1. Dear Me Beauty Glass Skin Liquid Highlighter Sahara

This one leans into that “glass skin” idea, but not in an overly dramatic way. The shade Sahara has a warm, sun-kissed tone that feels more like skin catching golden hour light than glitter sitting on top. When applied lightly, it gives a smooth reflective finish that feels polished but still believable. I find it works best when tapped onto high points of the face—cheekbones, inner corners of the eyes, and a bit on the nose bridge.

2. MADAME GIE Beauty Blink Fame Liquid

This one feels a bit more playful compared to the previous two. The glow leans slightly brighter, so it shows up more even under indoor lighting. It has that instant “awake” effect, especially when used sparingly on the cheeks or blended into a base that’s kept simple. What stands out is how quickly it gives impact.

You don’t need much product—just a tiny amount goes a long way. If applied with a light hand, it can look elegant, but if layered, it becomes more noticeable and a bit more glamorous.

Looking at both products side by side, it becomes clear that liquid highlighter isn’t just about brightness, but about how that brightness behaves. One leans calm and blended, the other more lively and present. Depending on the day, I find myself choosing differently—not because one is better than the other, but because the mood isn’t always the same.
