Lipstick is probably the one thing I reach for even on days when I don’t feel like doing much else. It’s quick, it changes the whole look, and somehow it also shifts my mood a little.

I’ve been going back and forth between two shades from Maybelline’s Color Sensational line—one with a glossy feel, the other more classic—and each one gives a different kind of confidence.

1. Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick Makeup Berry Blackmail

Berry Blackmail feels like that in-between lipstick when I don’t want something too bold but also not too soft. The first thing I notice every time is the shine—it catches the light just enough to make the lips look fresh and slightly fuller. The texture leans more toward a balm-like feel, which makes it really comfortable to wear. I don’t feel like I’m putting on something heavy, and that’s usually why I end up reaching for it on busy days.

2. Maybelline New York Lipstick Makeup Berry Go

Berry Go feels more like a classic lipstick moment. The finish is creamy, not glossy, and it gives a richer color payoff right away. When I wear this one, it feels a bit more put-together, like I actually took time to complete my look. The texture is still comfortable, but it has more structure compared to the Shine Compulsion one.

It stays in place better, which I appreciate when I know I’ll be out for a while. The berry shade here feels slightly brighter and more defined, making it stand out a bit more on the lips.

Both Berry Blackmail and Berry Go carry that berry tone, but they show it in different ways. One is glossy, soft, and easygoing, while the other is creamy, defined, and a bit more polished. Having both gives me options depending on how I want to show up that day, and that’s what makes choosing a lipstick feel a little more personal.
