I’ve spent way too much time testing eyeshadow palettes—some I loved instantly, others took a few tries before I figured them out.
These four palettes come up a lot in conversations, so here’s my take on each, written the way I’d actually describe them to a friend.
1. Rom&nd Better Than Eyes Original Series
This one feels like that quiet friend who doesn’t try too hard but always looks put together. The shades lean soft and wearable, nothing too loud, which is honestly why I keep reaching for it on rushed mornings. The mattes are smooth without being overly powdery, and the shimmer has this delicate sparkle that doesn’t scream for attention. It’s not the palette for dramatic looks, but for everyday makeup that feels effortless, it does the job beautifully. Sometimes simple really is enough.

2. Peripera Ink Pocket Shadow Palette
If the Rom&nd palette is calm and minimal, this one has a bit more personality. The color stories are playful, and I like how the combinations feel a little more “styled” straight out of the box. It’s compact, easy to toss into a bag, and surprisingly versatile for its size. That said, I did notice some shades need layering to really show up, but once you build them, they hold well. It’s the kind of palette I grab when I want to try something slightly different without committing to a full bold look.

3. Marina Glow Ready Eyeshadow Palette
This palette surprised me. At first glance, it looks like something you’d use for quick, glowing makeup—and that’s exactly where it shines. The tones are warm, friendly, and very approachable, especially if you like that soft radiance on the eyes. The shimmer shades stand out the most for me; they catch light in a way that feels fresh rather than heavy. It’s not overly complicated, and maybe that’s why I enjoy it. There’s no overthinking involved—just pick a shade and go.

4. 1028 Jewelry Box Eyeshadow Palette
This one feels a little more elevated, almost like it’s trying to be your “special occasion” palette without being intimidating. The shade range usually includes a mix of soft neutrals and a few standout tones that can transform a look quickly. I find the textures slightly richer compared to the others, especially the shimmer shades—they give that polished finish that makes it look like you spent more time than you actually did. It’s not something I use every day, but when I do, it adds a bit of extra confidence.

Each of these palettes brings something different to the table. Some are easy and dependable, others lean more playful or polished. I don’t think there’s a single “best” one—it really depends on your mood and how much effort you want to put in that day. Personally, I like having a mix like this. Some days I want simplicity, other days I want a bit more spark, and it’s nice knowing I have options that match both.
